Meet Raquel Butler
Dr. Raquel Butler graduated as a Veterinarian from Melbourne University in 2004, she has worked in a number of practices encompassing Australia, UK and Vanuatu and has always had a passion for complementary medicine. She now works as a full time Equine (80%) and Canine therapist and has integrated this knowledge with her veterinary knowledge.
She has studied with and been mentored by Sharon May-Davis in Anatomy, Biomechanics and Bodywork since the beginning of 2013.
Raquel is an Equine Muscle Release Therapy (EMRT®) and Canine and Cat Muscle Release Therapy (CCMRT®) Practitioner currently completing a Graduate Diploma of Animal Biomechanical Medicine (encompassing osteopathic and chiropractic techniques) in June 2016.
Raquel has studied Saddle fitting, Kinesio Taping, Masterson method, Craniosacral, and Dr. Kerry Ridgeways integrative medicine to musculoskeletal problems. She is also the veterinary consultant for McDowells HerbalTreatments in Bathurst.
Raquel has a research interest in the TMJ and hyoid and offers avid eye for detail and special connection and way with the horse.
Her aim is to bridge the gap between science and holistic medicine, revealing the improved outcomes by having an integrated approach to the animal.
Her knowledge is constantly being expanded to enable her to provide your animal with an integrated holistic approach to achieve the optimal results.
She is looking forward to working with you to devise the best program for your horse – emotionally, physically and mentally!
